interested in some opinions. What do you think of a retired educated with a PHD and a community leader with great respect, who is constantly berating his equally educated wife and her family? He refers to them as half wits, dumbasses, etc. and APPEARS to take an interest in his wife's 93 year old father BUT is always yelling at him. For example they take him on a weekend trip, nice, yes? But then the whole time, he is bitching at the poor old guy to 'hurry up' or "goddamn it -! comon!" as he and his wife walk at a good clip while the old squints his eyes to where they are and trips trying to keep up. Unfortunatley the wife never speaks up to defend her father guess because he would then turn his wrath on HER (as he does often enough) This is a who gives away thousands of dollars to (of course it gets his picture in the papers) and is kind and considerate to his own family, his friends and colleagues, food servers (he tip even for bad service) etc. But when it comes to his wife and her family he is vicious and mean. His wife's sister is a friend of mine and I have been over there with her and seen all this hatefulness close up. By the way, the old father in law who he is so impatient with is a wealthy who pays fully for any trip they take him on. He also has excellent insurance and does not cost them a cent and he is still able to live alone in his own place. What would make this guy soooo mean to them? My friend just asked me how she can gracefully get out of going there for a visit this, as she is retired also and has plenty of free time, so cannot use 'have to work' as an excuse.
