The real food maybe high calorie but it isn't nutritionally worthless. Here a list of thing I use for instant food. -20oz bottle of apple juice -rice cakes -bananas (spongy skins mean they can be packed to go anywhere) -grapes for finger food -baked potatoes (as a substite for a meal, bake a bunch in advance, leave them in the fridge, nuke, put toppings on, eat and go. Even if you load the potato with butter sour cream and bacon bits its still better than and you have a complete meal your done eating in less than ten minutes.) -rice keep a pot of rice in the fridge and you can mix it with left over meat and veggies anything is good mixed with rice. This is another meal you can make and eat in under 10 minutes. Better yet use brown rice or wild rice. -Freeze a portion of everything you make. Then you have edible frozen food. (I'ver never actually bean organized enough to do this.) If your ravenous and can't eat for several more hours there always the old college standbys: peanut butter and tuna fish. The point isn't that these foods are low calorie the point is they are quick, readily available, and better than whats usually available for unplanned eating:, soda, or fast food.
