Improve health and well-being at the University of. Physical and social activities, and health education are features of the 32 year old Adult Health Development Program at the University of in College Park, an intergenerational, service-learning health promotion program. Students trained as “friendly coaches” are paired with adults, age 50 and older, to improve health and well-being for consecutive Saturdays, 9:30-noon. Physical activities include weight training, aerobics, swimming, t'ai, swimming, volleyball, basketball, walking and bicycling, dancing, massage, table tennis, jogging/walking, health education, and FUN. Some members have been involved for over 16 years. Everyone can benefit. Orientations for new members is Saturday, Feb. 5th, 10-11:30 am, room (auditorium) of the Health Human Performance Building.
