Disneyland commits to providing a certain level of an experience- rides, food, safety etc. If knowingly allows guests to purchase tickets and then doesn't live up to its promises, it gets sued and loses. I believe that the single sex environment is a fundamental piece of the experience the college has sold- and to renege on that is a betrayal. I also still don't buy that every one of those other students is fine with this student transitioning and having a male student in their residence halls. Why does a student who is transitioning from FTM expect that they would be able to stay in a single sex female environment? I understand the personal to- doesn't want to start over, has close friends and a support system and other personal reasons. But my question goes to the larger identification as male- If I identify as male and I am transitioning fully to male, why would I expect to stay in a single sex female environment? I have a hard time believing that the student has fully and truly grasped what it means to make the transition. I understand it is about presenting physiy as the gender you identify with, but then why not all of the other rights and responsibilities that go along with that identification and transition?
