Have read a number of your posts here about your situation. In my case, my ex and I have been formally separated yet residing in same house with, for 4 years. Co-own the business adult dating Gravatai tuller saturday morning that supports us. I work in it, she doesn't work at all (- rub point). LOADED with debt to her family. Two 14 and 9. Both gifted. $ K in retirement savings, 70% in her name at separation. No pension. Neither represented by counsel. The debt to her family has been a stumbling block. At separation it was not documented AT ALL. We did not even agree what currency the debt was in (she is from Taiwan). Not % clear that repayment would even be possible in absence of documentation. However, if accepted as owed at all, then at separation it was "joint and several" responsibility.. but she doesn't work.. so most would fall on me. She says "pay it ALL off first.. and THEN we'll negotiate. Couple of times over the past few years I've had cash to be able to make significant payment on the family debt. So I says to her.. "I'm ready to make a payment of $xx.. so what you doe for me? It's your debt too.. so if I agree to make this payment.. I want some progress on separation negotiations". At first she refused, and her family agreed with her. One of the things I wanted was to formalize the debt.. transferring to be direct debt of an incorporated business ( personally guaranteed by me).. with about directly owed by me, and directly owed by her).. Anyway.. family would not agree.. and neither would she. continued..
