returning to my home. She and I talked today for the first time in years. She is very excited to ride in her dad's truck across the country these next two weeks. She told me she loved me, I about fell through the floor! I cried as as her dad handed her the phone and this grown up sounding started talking to me. She told me to hold off on all the food and "party" stuff (just like posters here thought might be good to hold off on). She said to hold off because there was going to be tons of tears and screaming in and hugs and tears, and kisses, and WOW's. Probably won't want to eat much while re reconnect. What a mature thing this 14 year old tells her 42 year old step mother. Thanks to everyone who responded to me last night, I read each and every one of the posts today, with tears and a gurgely gut. She told me she loves the Explorer and to not change a thing in that room ROFL. I have 14 days to prepare for this. I am figuring all her old things placed in her room, with our 7 year old's invitation to sleep in her room with her. Our 7 year old is so excited and says nope, we are in the same room, and the room be our play room. I tell you what, that 14 year old had a spark in her voice when she told me she is ready to take it all on. Two weeks in a truck, and a new school, and a reunited family. She told me to just prepare for tears , so have tissues more than food out on the kitchen table!
